Green Clubs and Peer-Led Educational Initiatives
To ensure continuity and long-term climate impact, HCGI established Green Clubs in all the schools visited. These clubs serve as peer-led platforms where students continue to learn and advocate for climate action and climate resilience. The Green Clubs empower students as climate advocates and promote hands-on activities that reinforce climate education and climate responsibility among young people. Through these peer-led initiatives, students develop climate leadership skills while contributing to climate action in their schools and communities.
The Green Club members have become environmental champions in their schools, organizing climate awareness campaigns, participating in tree planting activities, and educating their peers about sustainable practices. This peer-to-peer education model ensures that environmental awareness spreads organically throughout the school community.
In line with the COP 30 theme and its emphasis on climate action, sustainability, and inclusive innovation, students also conceptualized, developed, and presented peer-led recycled projects during the event. Using discarded and reusable materials, they created practical and creative solutions that demonstrated the principles of environmental stewardship and the circular economy. These projects not only showcased the students’ ingenuity and teamwork but also reflected their growing understanding of how waste can be transformed into value through sustainable thinking. By leading these presentations themselves, the students demonstrated confidence, ownership, and leadership, reinforcing the role of young people as active contributors to climate solutions within their schools and communities
