Community-Based Climate Action

HCGI's community engagement efforts extend beyond school-based programs to include broader community climate initiatives that address climate challenges at the community level and promote climate resilience. In partnership with international climate organizations and local stakeholders, HCGI participated in World Cleanup Day in Abuja—an event organized by the Swedish Embassy in Nigeria in partnership with Clean Technology Hub, 7Up Bottling Company, and other climate stakeholders.

We took part in a 4-kilometer climate awareness walk and cleanup exercise in the Jabi area, focusing on plastic waste reduction for climate action and climate-smart waste management. This initiative successfully collected over 50 kilograms of plastic waste during the event, demonstrating measurable climate impact through waste reduction and prevention of plastic pollution contributing to climate change.
